The Bosch Tarot designed by A. Atanassov is based and inspired on the artworks of famous surrealist artist Hieronymus (or Jeroen) Bosch (1450-1516), a Dutch painter who lived in the Low Countries (present-day Belgium and the Netherlands.
Many images of the cards are noticed to be the pieces from the same artwork, his very famous "Garden of Earthly Delights".
The Bosch Tarot is intended to reflect the sixteenth century conceptions of universe through the prism of Bosch's paintings, who aimed to explain that humanity is destined to damnation, deserving of hell, uniting his nightmares with reality.
It was in those times that the collective imagination was shaped by tales of Heaven and Hell, beatification and damnation. And that is why these cards, full of depression, filled with man's sinfulness together with beasts and monsters, have the power to reveal the darkest parts of one’s soul, as well as whisper the advice or point the path to purification thus that is the possible way out of the dark depths of our fears.
The deck is recommended to the experienced Tarot readers and art collectors.
