The Necronomicon Tarot is a wonderful deck created by Donald Tyson and illustrated by Anne Stokes. Donald Tyson has developed the deck on the basis of H.P. Lovecraft's Necronomicon, tales about the world of alien horrors of ancient magic and forgotten civilizations, gathered together under the collective title of "Cthulhu Mythos". The Necronomicon Tarot itself is made out of the dreams and nightmares and its roots reach deep within the unconscious, thus be careful when taking the deck: it might (and it surely would!) open wide our collective unconscious like Pandora's box in order to listen and to speak to it. It reveals what we concealed even from ourselves – the primal instincts and ancient slumbering forces, magic powers of Creation and Destruction. The deck is inhabited by ghastly gods, terrible monsters, and all seven rulers of the Old Ones. The symbolism of the deck arouses astrological and elemental associations.
